Lisbon Metro, Yellow and Green Lines

In January 2004 Dimetronic delivered the Signalling System for the expansion project of the Yellow Line of Lisbon Metro. This 5 Km section inludes the new stations of Quinta das Conchas, Lumiar, Ameixoeira, Senhor Roubado and Odivelas. With this extension, Lisbon Metro went out of the city’s limits for the first time, granting new flexibility to the Lisbon-Amadora corridor. This project, together with the Green Line extension running from Campo Grande to Telheiras stations, efective since October 2003, greatly enhances Lisbon Metro’s capacity to help the development of the 2004 Eurocup football championship in Portugal.

Dimetronic’s scope of supply included Westrace-type electronic Interlocking and Local Control Panels, including sub-systems for Diagnosis and Maintenance. The Westrace interlocking will control all trains in the line through the relevant track equipment – Jointless Track Circuits, electrical Point Machines and wayside signals. The areas controlled by the new Westrace electronic interlockings were included in the existing Centralised Traffic Control (CTC), also supplied by Dimetronic.
