In November 2004, MINTRA awarded Dimetronic the supply, commissioning and guarantee of 90 on board ATP/ATO equipment. These will be fit in 90 trains of the new 3000 series, recently procured by Metro de Madrid for its narrow gauge lines. These new ATP/ATO equipment will allow operation both on Distance-To-Go or Track-Code functionality, according to the ATP track system currently operating in the line. Availability will be maximized through the use of a redundant 2 out of 3 configuration for the vital equipment and a 1 out of 2 configuration for the non-vital parts.
The new 3000 series trains will be of the ‘worm’ type, with the following characteristics:
Delivery of the equipment will take place between September 2005 and September 2007, following the trains’ construction time schedule.
