Metro de Madrid, Metronorte and Metroeste

In January 2005, MINTRA awarded to Dimetronic the contract for the Project of the Signalling and ATC system for the new ‘Metronorte’ and ‘Metroeste’ lines of Madrid’s underground, Metro de Madrid. The commissioning is foreseen in the spring of 2007.

Both lines will be equipped with Dimetronic’s proven technology, already in use in other lines of Madrid’s network.

  • Westrace electronic interlocking in a "hot stand-by" configuration.
  • Distance to go (DTG) ATP/ATO.
  • The on-board ATP/ATO is able to operate both in DTG and Speed Code ATP modes. Availability will be maximized through the use of a 2 out of 3 architecture for the vital sub-systems and a 1 out of 2 scheme for the non vital ones.

METRONORTE

Metronorte project is meant to provide services to new urban development of northern Madrid, as well as the towns of Alcobendas and San Sebastián de los Reyes. It will stretch through 16 km and 11 stations, controlled through 6 interlockings.

Traffic will be granted with 11 new trains of the 9000 series, using three cars and 1.500 Vcc OHL traction system.

METROESTE

Metroeste will serve the towns of Coslada and San Fernando de Henares. It will start with 8,3 km and 6 stations, with another two stations foreseen in the near future. 4 Westrace interlockings will grant control.

9 new trains of the 9000 series will provide service, using three cars and 1.500 Vcc OHL traction system.
