CAF, the rolling stock manufacturer, is making 36 new trains for lines 2 and 5 of Barcelona Metro. These 5.000 series trains will have 5 cars each, in a ‘worm’ configuration – free passage between cars. Dimetronic has been requested by CAF to do the supply, commissioning and guarantee of the corresponding on board ATP/ATO equipment. Delivery will be carried out between February 2005 and July 2006, matching the time schedules of train construction.
