Dimetronic Signals awarded Madrid - Valencia high speed line signalling contract

On the 27th of June 2008, a consortium of Dimetronic Signals, and Thales has been awarded the contract for the Madrid-Valencia high speed line signalling and communications works by ADIF (the Spanish railway administrator). The scope of the contract includes the signalling system with electronic interlockings, track circuits, ERTMS Level 1 & 2 train protection system and the traffic control centre.

This new high speed line is a 440 km length line, split in tow parts, one of 363 km between Torrejón de Velasco and Valencia and other of 77 km between Motilla de Palancar and Albacete. The global budget is 585 M€ and the time frame is 27 months.

Dimetronic will lead the consortium and will be directly responsible for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the ERTMS Level 1& 2 train protection system and the traffic control centre as well as a share of the maintenance activities.

This has been the biggest signalling contract ever in Spain. With this contract, Dimetronic will have installed more ERTMS kilometeres than any other supplier in Spain. Other step that confirms Dimetronic as the technological leader in the High Speed environment in Spain.
