Signalling of the Red Line extensions for Lisbon Metro

On August, 1st, 2008, Lisbon Metro awarded to Dimetronic the contract for the Signalling system of the Red Line extensions.

This is a 5,6 M€ contract, which includes the Signalling for the section between the stations of Alameda, São Sebastião and Campolide plus the section between Oriente and Aeropuerto stations – in dotted line in the attached map. These two extensions have a length of 5 km within the total 12 km which the line will have at the end of the project.

The works will take three years, divided in 3 phases, with commissionings foreseen in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

The scope of the project includes the replacement of the existing interlockings in Alameda, Chelas and Oriente, plus the integration of the entire Red Line’s Signalling in the existing CTC, recently upgraded by Dimetronic. The supply will also include a regulation system for the whole line and a traffic simulator which will be applicable to the entire network of Lisbon Metro.

With this contract Dimetronic consolidates its leading position as the Signalling supplier for Metropolitano de Lisboa, since Dimetronic has already delivered the Signalling system for the rest of the existing lines and depots.
