In May 2004 the new underground junction leading to the city of Torrent was put into service, together with the new Torrent Avinguda station. This new branch will allow passengers to avoid traffic jams and reach in a comfortable 20 minutes the commercial centre of Valencia. The Signalling, Interlocking and CTC systems of this new section of Valencia Metro have been awarded to Dimetronic. The works have included two new Westrace electronic interlocking and the corresponding Jointless Track Circuits. This section was integrated with the rest of the network in the existing Operational Control Centre at Valencia Sud, also supplied by Dimetronic.
