History of Dimetronic Signals

From date it was founded in 1953, till today, the company has evolved, the following being the significant milestones achieved:

1953The company was founded and called Dimetal, S.A.
1963A merger between Dimetal and the Spanish Westinghouse Brake & Signals (founded in 1940). Dimetal become licensees of Westinghouse Brake and Signals (UK) established in Spain since 1949.
1970Dimetal go on to be part of the Westinghouse Air Brakes Corporation (WABCO) of USA.
1978Dimetal, divided into two companies, DIMETRONIC being the new name of the company with Railway Signalling activities.
1979Westinghouse Signals (UK) acquire 49% of Dimetronic.
1982Hawker Siddeley purchase both Westinghouse Signals and Dimetronic.
1991BTR (UK) acquire Hawker Sideley, and BTR Rail Group Founded.
1999Merger of BTR and SIEBE, forming a new group INVENSYS.
1999New Group for Railway Signalling activities, founded in Feb1999 named Invensys Rail Systems.
2000Foxboro Transportation of Australia joins Invensys Rail Systems Group.
